About

T

ropical Taurus is an Australian stud enterprise operating throughout Queensland by Cultivate Agri Partnerships. As specialist breeders of tropical adapted bulls our cattle are developed to perform in harsh north Australian conditions.

Genetics

A

ll Tropical Taurus’ bulls are bred from superior Belmont Red, Senepol and Bonsmara seedstock from one of Australia’s leading genetics pioneers. Progeny from paired African-derived Bos Taurus and Brahman herds, has shown to demonstrate hybrid vigour with increased fertility, heat tolerance, tick and pest resistance, meat quality and MSA grading.

The accompanying video published by Meat & Livestock Australia shows Professor Ben Hayes from The University of Queensland talk about the Northern Genomics Project. This is a project Tropical Taurus continues to be involved in as one of our many initiatives to improve hybrid vigour and economic viability of the northern beef industry.
